What’s the process look like?
-
If you would like to access dietitian rebates from Medicare, you need a Chronic Disease Plan (EPC plan) and a referral letter from your GP.
Speak to your private health insurer to find out what rebates may be included in your policy.
-
Book in for a free 15-minute chat so that I can learn more about where you’re at with your condition, understand your main concerns and discuss how I can best support you to achieve your goals.
-
I often ask for a 3-day food diary before the appointment to allow for some insights to ensure we make the most of the appointment.
You can expect a friendly, supportive environment where your comfort and progress are our priority.
-
This includes a thorough assessment of the food you eat alongside your eating patterns, work environment, exercise, sleep, stress, medical/family history, medications, blood tests and bowel pattern to ensure a holistic approach. This information enables a discussion on what ‘tweaks’ need to be considered to ensure optimum health that work for you and are ultimately sustainable.
-
I will provide your GP, if necessary, a handover of the care that I provided in our session together and my recommendations going forward. This may be a request for further investigations or referral to other allied health.
-
The review appointments will enable us to discuss what is working and what is not to allow for tweaks to ensure they meet the nutritional needs as well as suit your lifestyle, to ensure that the changes are sustainable.

FAQs
-
Unlike nutritionists, dietitians are university-qualified health professionals trained to provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy for a wide range of health conditions, working alongside other healthcare providers.
So whether you're looking to regulate your hormones and restore a regular menstrual cycle, boost fertility, manage your weight, improve energy to keep up with the kids, or fuel your training for a half marathon, a dietitian can support you every step of the way.
-
While dietitians cannot order blood tests, we can provide tailored pathology recommendations for your GP to help assess your nutritional status. Please bring any recent blood test results to your appointment, as they can support a more accurate assessment and personalised treatment plan.
-
Your first appointment is all about getting to know your lifestyle, health history, and goals so we can create a personalised nutrition plan that works for you.
I take a holistic approach to evaluating your eating habits, daily routines, medical history, medications, recent blood tests, stress levels, sleep patterns, and bowel habits. This helps identify simple, sustainable changes to support your long-term health.
Completing a 3-day food diary beforehand can help make the most of your appointment.
You can expect a supportive, judgment-free environment where your comfort and progress are our top priority.

The rebates that are calculated varies depending on the cover of the policy you have.
-
No referral is needed to see a dietitian; however, if you wish to claim Medicare rebates, talk to your GP about your eligibility for a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP).
A CDMP can provide up to 5 subsidised allied health appointments per calendar year, including dietitian sessions. These are often shared across services, so you may be allocated 1–3 sessions. The current Medicare rebate for dietitian appointments is $55.10 per session."
-
If you’re unable to attend your appointment, please notify me via email or phone at least 48 hours in advance.
This allows me to offer the session to others on my waiting list and maintain a high-quality service. A $50 cancellation fee may apply for changes made within 48 hours or for missed appointments, unless due to unforeseen circumstances.
